At the conclusion of various avataras of Vishnu, the following shloka from yujurveda seems to be apt.
"Om purnam adah purnam idampurnat purnam udacyate, Purnasya purnamadaya purnam evavasisyate" Om Shantih Shantih Shantih!
The meaning of the above shloka is as follows.
That Paramatma is infinite,This jivatma is infinite, The jivatma arises out of the Parmatma . When Parmatma is taken away from the Jivatma, Parmatma alone remains.( Yujerveda).

Appa find out if you can get the collection of the Shanthi Mantra cassette it is very nice to listen to.Sundar amd myself were going to Shanthi Mantra classes at Mumbai long time ago and it was very interesting to listen to with the meaning. The blog is very intersting to read. Sundar says you have not mentioned about Matysa Avatar (Fish) the first avatar. Sundar says the ten avatar are: Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parasurama, Rama, Balarama, Krishna and Kalki. Buddha is apparently not an avatar according to Sundar.
Hi Anu, Matsya Avatar is mentioned in the context of Lord Vishnu taking Matsya Avatar to retrieve the vedas from the ocean.
See in a few days, Chitappa has taught me. Manni still stays that if it were not for Vijaya chitti pulling me away from Amma's protective grasp it is doubtful if I would have ever studied.
Raju chitappa used to get me thayar sadam in tiffin box when I studied in Beldih Church and you all were staying in circuit house area.
Bhuvni
As you would have noted a lot of things that were written on my comment were dictated by Sundar. I only learning about all this now from this blog. I am also very pleased to know that you got a Bhagavat Gita book from the man in the library. I also note that for all of us this blog is bringing a lot memories from childhood isn't it. I feel very nice to read these blog everynight makes me feel very much at home.
